      Last Sunday, I visited the book fair that was held at the Town Hall. Some of the leading publishers of the country participated in the fair. A big crowd of book lovers thronged the Town Hall. Attractive discounts were offered on selected books. People showed a lot of interest in English and Gujarati literature. There were books on poetry, essays, dramas, humour, travel and recipes. There were encyclopaedia and dictionaries in English and Gujarati. Educational and music CDs recorded a good sale. It was a very interesting fair.

          On the day of Diwali , a fire broke out in a house in my neighbourhood Raja Mehta's Pol. Some children were bursting crackers on the open ground in front of the house. Suddenly, a rocket entered the house and set the curtains on fire. Slowly, the fire spread All over the room. The fire brigade was called. The fire was brought under control in half hour. But the damage to the property had been done by that time. However, fortunately, there was no loss of life. The injured were taken to the city Hospital and discharged after some first aid.
